Our physicians and therapists are available 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week to accommodate patients and referring physicians in the event of an emergency.

Radiation Oncologists

The Stoddard Cancer Physicians include three radiation oncologists that are located in the Stoddard Radiation Oncology Department - Robert Goebel, M.D., Robert Isaak, M.D., and John Triantafyllos, M.D. These physicians will strive to provide the most technologically advanced radiation oncology department in Iowa and will continue to lead the way in cancer care.

Our physicians work hard to educate patients and their families about the treatment process every step of the way. They make sure that all treatments are tailored to each patients specific need. Approximately 90 percent of our patients are served on an outpatient basis and we strive to achieve a "no wait" policy for our patients.

Stoddard Radiation Oncologists

Robert Goebel, M.D.
Medical Director, Stoddard Cancer Physicians

Dr. Goebel joined John Stoddard in 2008 from the Community Hospital of Long Beach in Long Beach, CA, where he served as medical director of Radiation Oncology and Oncology Services for 23 years. Dr. Goebel has an impressive educational background that includes an undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a graduate degree from Harvard University, a medical degree from the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and a master's degree in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Goebel is board certified with the American Board of Radiology and has fellowships from the American College of Legal Medicine and the American College of Radiation Oncology. He completed his residency with the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, an internship with North Shore University Hospital and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, a fellowship with Harvard Medical School and research training with the National Cancer Institute. The Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM) has also designated Dr. Goebel as a Certified Physician Executive.

John Triantafyllos, M.D.
Radiation Oncologist, Stoddard Cancer Physicians

Dr. Triantafyllos is board certified with the American Board of Radiology and has over ten years of experience as a radiation oncologist. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA and his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences at the Chicago Medical School. Dr. Triantafyllos completed an internship in internal medicine with the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, and his residency with The Johns Hopkins Hospital Division of Radiation Oncology.

Prior to joining Stoddard, Dr.Triantafyllos was in private practice at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles as part of the Radiation Oncology Consultants Medical Group.

Robert J. Isaak, M.D., Pharm.D.
Radiation Oncologist, Stoddard Cancer Physicians

Dr. Isaak is board certified with the American Board of Radiology. He received a doctorate in pharmacy from Idaho State University College of Pharmacy and a doctorate in medicine from the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine internship with the University of Nevada School of Medicine and most recently completed his radiation oncology residency with Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center.
