John Stoddard Rally Against Cancer

Thank you to everyone who made the 13th Annual John Stoddard Cancer Center Rally Against Cancer on January 26, 2013 a huge success!

Over $200,000 was raised to support the Care Coordinator Program, which is provided free of charge to all patients of John Stoddard Cancer Center and is not reimbursable by insurance. This program is only possible because of philanthropy.

Former pro football player Chris Draft spent the afternoon on the cancer inpatient unit at John Stoddard Cancer Center visiting with patients, families, and members of the staff. He spoke of his 13 years in the NFL, as well as the loss of his wife, Keasha, to lung cancer. Learn more about his story here.

During his presentation at the Rally Against Cancer, Draft discussed the importance of teamwork in the face of cancer. He also talked about Team Draft, an initiative of the Chris Draft Family Foundation that he and Keasha established as a result of their struggle with lung cancer. Draft's message of hope resounded with all attendees.
