Treatment for colorectal cancer might involve surgery and/or radiation therapy. It's important to talk with your doctor about the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Surgery is the most common treatment.

With radiation therapy, doctors use two types - external and internal. Sometimes, patients receive both.

The John Stoddard Cancer Center also offers what is called radiofrequency (RF) ablation. This minimally invasive procedure involves inserting a probe into the area affected by cancer. The probe includes tines resembling those of an umbrella. The tines open and attack the cancer.
